I have a 29 gallon, gorgeous tank with real plants, and cardinal tetras.    Good thing the plants look nice because I never see the cardinals.   I thought briefly about putting more in, but I didn't.

I have a second, 12 gallon tank with 6 cherry barbs who are like puppies.   When the light goes on in the morning they are right at the surface, looking for their food.   You could put your fingers in and they would just check them out, not swim away.

This weekend I decided the barbs could go in the larger aquarium, there was no reason why not.      Well, the barbs are acting like dither fish I guess.    Now everyone is out swimming around, barbs and tetras together!   I have visible fish!

I should have done it a year ago.....

Bees

I have a golden molly specifically for this reason.  Because he bumbles around in all areas of the tank the rest of the fish seem more relaxed.  He probably scarfs down more than his share of food but otherwise he's a harmless frat boy who keeps the party going.
