This should be a lesson to us, my tank is only half covered. I find the eggcrate etc ugly.....but I guess I'll have to do it eventually. I guess that is why canopys exist, to hide the tops of our tanks.
Sorry for your loss though....the bluespot IMHO is the best fish available in the salt they are beautiful!!!!!

When you go to stores like aquavalley, they have a 2 inch rim of acrilic around the top outside edge of the tanks. Is this enough to keep fish in? It did not work for my firebelly toads. (I nevet found them again)

My eggcrate is about 2" from the water.

I'm sure the LFSs lose fish from jumping all the time. It just gets absorbed in their costs.
