Lift-System for lights

Hey everyone.  I am looking for some kind of system that I can use to lift my lights up and down, ideally electronically and not counter-ballanced.

Here's one system, but I cannot find the details on it.

Another idea is an electric ram idea well described in this link.

I prefer the top option in it's exact form... as that unit is programmable for upper and lower limits... meaning no accidental dunking of the lights in the water, or ripping of power-cords from walls... Nice feature IMO. ;)

Anyone seen anything like this?

I have not seen anything like your picture, however....
I recently say a neat lift system for a hot tub hard cover. Maybe something like that could work. Electronic control, telescopic supports. Pricey item I'm sure but it may conjure up an idea.

Ray; I have a light rail setup over my frag tank. I don't believe a verticle application would work with that system.

I have seen a good use of a Linear Actuator mounted parallel to the tank, and a pulley or two, used to create vertical lift... no issues, in fact it's what I'm leaning towards right now.  a 30" linear Actuator some pulley's and some creative wood work...  I have some measuring to do before I can build a final plan... bending some stainless steel pipe might be required, but In that application I do not know how to get a wheel into the end of the pipe so that the steel cable rides on the wheel and doesn't grind on the inside of the pipe walls, at the edges, when it slides....

ARGH.

Is a lift a wish list item or a must have sexy piece?
What about a swing away style pedestal?

This is a must-have item... well feature... I need to be able to get the lights out of my way when cleaning the tank.  A vertical lift would be ideal.

did you ever figure out the lift system above I am sure I know what it is ;D

Hookup

Nope I didnt.  Right now the lights are just hanging from the ceiling... I'm torn on the lift-system... I really want one, but I do not want it to look fugly...  To get it to look sexy I'll have to rip more drywall down from the tray ceiling and repair it... etc...

If you know where I can get one of those electric winches that'd be nice to know...

I might go with a 30" linear actuator though to keep the vertical pull directly over the lights...

that is exactly what it is and if you go back to the RC sight where you saw this you can see an easy way to mount this. If done right you will have your ''sexy factor'' ;) ;)
