Can anyone tell me what the acronym DAS refers to in relation to aquariums, in particular Hagen?

Nelson

I picked up this tank recently and Steve at SP described it as a Hagen DAS.  You'll note the built-in filter in the corner.  It contains a tubular sponge filter, the height of the tank, with a powerhead sitting on top to draw the water through slits in the corner of the "box", through the sponge filter, then into the tank.  Thought possibly it was this filtration system that may be described by the acronym.

I'll be seeing Steve tomorrow and will speak to him again.

Perfect tank for starting a Salt water system! Get the bottom or back drilled, use that overflow to a sump and you're all set.

I DID NOT have to read that DARKPHREAK

Im sorry :) But while its all nice and dry like that is just calling for a few holes to be drilled, I have the contact number of someone who does it... let me know.

Resisted temptation...it's filled

This probably isn't of interest to anyone but me, but apparently a european company called DAS is the mothership, or at least very closely associated with Hagen.  DAS manufactures the commercial biological/filtration systems for most LFS's, most notably SP.  As a result of the commercial success with their system, they decided to enter the domestic market by supplying Hagern tanks that encorporate the same commercial system.

That is what I have.   DAS mystery is solved

My quest is finally over, thanks

No problem!

What's really funny is that there is no "dutch" in the Hagen family, they're all german.  Not sure what's up with that.
