Today I realized that a whole body of a left handed hermit crab is floating around and then I looked and saw both two that I have are walking around. :o
I put them up side down and looked at both of them trying to flip and they were both good and my big one looked a little bigger than before. do they change skin too like the cleaner shrimps? if not what is going on

I also own two blue legged hemit like the one below and I realized that one of them doesnt have the two nice green clwas it used to have. is that normal or he lost it in a battle and what is going to happen to him if he lost it in the battle?
is it gonna grow back or he is gonna die?

I have been seeing a lot of snails being killed and empty shells being around. I witnessed one being killed by the bigger left handed guy.
is it him killing them is it the blue guys?
which one of them is more aggressive?

I also saw a small worm like thing creeping out of a whole in my rocks which had many many small legs with two sticks kinda thing attached to his head. I couldn't get a pic since I saw him for two seconds and never again.

weird things going on :o :o :o :o :o :o.

thanks

thanks

+1 the crab body was a moult.  Nothing to worry about.

Blue leg hermits...the proper blue leg ones...are quite aggressive and will kill and eat snails.  I won't have them in my tank.  I have Scarlet hermits.  Scarlets are more expensive ($3 each from vendors on OVAS) but in my opinion they're worth it.

I don't know what you big hermit is, so I can't comment.  But lost claws will grow back.

For the worm...there are some bad ones but most likely it's nothing to worry about.  You'll see all sorts of crazy things and almost all of them are harmless and serve a purpose.

ok thanks
just wondering if the blue legged one will get the claws growing back or it will starve to death? and this kind is the one that is aggressive? should I get ride of it? this is how it looked like.
whats about the left handed guys are they aggressive to or no? I saw my bigger left handed killing one snail right front of me.

That's an Electric Blue, from the Marshall Islands.  Very nice, and I have one myself.  I've never seen mine be any more aggressive than to climb over my other corals at feeding time.  Mine also lost a claw in a duel with a large Emerald...it took a couple moults, but it grew back sure enough.

To me, if you've got a hermit in there that you saw killing something else, throw him in the sump.  If you don't have a sump, I'm sure someone on here with a mantis tank would want him.

I have a left handed hermit, and I've caught him trying get at a snail but I keep him b/c he's pretty entertaining (when not trying to take out snails).

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I personally don't worry about the hermits/snails.    2 of my blue leg's took snail shells over.  but the snails are a buck each so they can go ahead and "upgrade" their home.        I'm due for a trip to Ottawa to get more sails.

I also have extra different size shells in my tank so that the hermits can use them when they get bigger. (although they seem to prefer fighting for their upgrades)
