Question - material

Glass - C2C in a glass tank - several people have recommended glass over acrylic. Acrylic materials shrink over time and UV exposure- this I can understand - can lead to problems down the road. C2C can pull away and that's not good - increased stress on glass & leaks below the water line - reduced surface skimming.

What about Acrylic tanks - C2C in an Acrylic material?
Use material similar to tank?

Starting 2 projects
1 - stand & sump for my 65g perfecto glass tank - presently sumpless
2 - 75g new build for my son - new acrylic tank - new everything

Vincenzo.

#1 use glass on glass for c2c.
#2 use acrylic on acrylic for c2c.

And use krylon fusion spray paint if u want to paint the c2c w/e color u want.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I was planning on keeping with similar materials -
glass & glass  -  acrylic & acrylic

Just thought I'd ask
It just makes sense to me.

I'm always afraid of paint in the aquarium. You can get glass in say black if you want you CTC to be black. Same goes fgor acrylic.

I build one for my nano tank.
I haven't completed this project yet as I purchased a house in October and haven't had any spare money.
I'm starting to wonder if this project will ever be finished
Anyhow... here's how I built my external C2C.
