Jim

I cought one on the weekand and was thinking of keeping a few.

Anyone have any info on them?

How big they get, tank sizes, fish to keep with them, what to feed them.

Thanks
Jim

Just don't be surprised if you find them crawling around your house in the morning; they are incredible escape artists.

Ditto that. I'd rec at least a 40g for one, as well. Despite being hidden under rocks, they do roam around looking for food.

Flush the gills when you first get one, as well, by placing it in a container with either a strong bubbler, or small powerhead. There's parasites in there that seem to really bother the crays once they are "tanked".

They'll eat anything, including fish that are sleeping, and smaller, slower fish.

I wouldn't reccommend getting them Jim, just for the sake of any fish that you put in there with them :?

Plus they're cold water... You need to keep the temps low for them.

It is funny I was told the same, but nevertheless, I got 3 crayfish. The biggest one is with goldfishes in pond, but other 2 are in tanks: one with my malawi's and the third one with apistos. I never saw any fight between them and fish, it seems they respect each other. None of them even tried to get out of the tank (OK, at least during these 3 months I have them). I should say that crabs are much much better when we are talking about escape from tank. And the water temp is at least 26 in tanks and changes during the day in pond.
So, maybe mine are of different type?
