yo
here are my future tank plans.right now i got a rescued pink convict in my 20g and a pair of kribs in a 10g. i had the pinkie in the 10g but even though the tank was fully cycled the levels went crazy after about 4 days of having him in there. soo i switched the pair o' kribs to the 10 after doing a large water change and vac +cycle+melafix+a dash of salt.well now the pink convict is doing great in the 20 but a 10g is too small for a pair of kribs as the male kicked the female out of the driftwood cave she spawned in previously . so now as soon as i find a place for the pink convict ill move them back to the 20 . now my question is if i could house an african butterfly in there with them both. im thinking since they are bottom dwellers and af butterflies are surface dwellers they might get along. the krib wont even come to the surface for food so idoubt they would have issues with the a.b.. do you all think this could work?i just ordered some riccia fluitans from aquabid dot com to make an amano style tank so i could spare some for cover.thanks

BigDaddy

Your 10 gallon is already overstocked having just the two kribs in it.

An African Butterfly needs at least a 20 gallon tank.

So, the short answer = bad idea

sylvain

African Butterfly fish is a very slow eating fish, so you want to make sure it has time to feed, before all the food is taken by the kribs.

i think you missunderstood.i was asking when i move the pair back to the 20g if i could house an af butterfly in the 20 with them. sorry about the weird way i turn phrases. my fault

sylvain

you still have to take in consideration that the african butterfly is a slow eater, it could starved to death if the kribs eat all the food.

yeah i know. so far the kribs have not been going to the surface for food so i had to freeze the flakes  in water so they would sink. besides i wold not mind hand feeding him

well i bought the riccia from a guy here in quebec but still had to pay american so he gets more money(2$ who cares). i ordered som brigs from the usa but didnt have to pay border beecausethey were sent as a letter. if you order something that requires a package i think you have to pay border. in the differrent auctions some people will ship only to the usa or only to canada or whatever . i did not have any problems buyibg from the people. its like ebay but for fish
