BA Innes has them I'm pretty sure.

DARKPHREAK

Depending on where you live, theres a guy in Hull that sells them unwired but very easy to wire and their cheap. But they are only for VHO, if you contact the owner he might be able to get ones your looking for.

You can also get stuff like that from www.aquariacanada.com.

Pre-wired??

most endcaps come un-wired..  what ya running? cause most endcaps are T12.. if you run t-8's you need endcaps that match..

And I can attest, they are not easy to find.  I tried.

ok, thanks for the help so far guys, unwired is fine, but i dont want the type of endcap that fastens to the lid, i want the type that just clips/pushes on the end of the tube, similar to this:

so i can use 'tool-clips' to secure the tube if you get my drift?

the plan is a 48x18x18 fw mbuna 'show-tank' with at least a couple of od flourescents, lots of Val and Java Fern.

forgive the measurements rather than volume, i'm still working in 1970's Imperial, lol

if you know a better way of acheiving what i want, dont hesitate to say, i'm just used to doing things the way i would back in Blighty

Mettle

You can get aparatus like that from Super Pet. They call them 'Glo Mats'. There are ones that come in single and ones in double and different ones hold different wattages. I currently use them for my reptiles who need uvb lighting but it could easily be rigged for a tank.

are you talking about the whole kit and caboodle like this:
(minus the tube of course)

or just the ends

the ballast unit is no good to me as i have twin output ballasts that i'm going to use to drive one tube each

I can see them from home but not from work.  The images are from photobucket.com which is an image sharing website which is obviously being blocked.  Darn govt!

editted the pic posts and added as attachments for those who are visually impaired
