Anyone have a place in their heart for a/another beardie, 3 yrs old, never bites, very lazy. Free or cheap to a good home  :)

I know there are a lot of beardie lovers out there!!

Have you had any luck finding a home for your baby?

I've got a pair of fat tailed geckos at the moment, and am currently babysitting our daughter's beardie and leopard gecko.
I hadn't had a lot of exposure to beardies previously but I'm amused at how "dog-like" this one is.  She seems to run up to greet
you and wag her tail when we come into the room.  It's rather endearing..

Your sig-line says that you've got your beardie in a 60 gallon tank?  She/he must be pretty large?   Do you have any photos?
I'd love to see a picture of your tank setup if you don't mind sharing.    Always looking for new ideas - and with perfect timing
since today is tank cleanout day.. :)

Sounds like you have a few ;)

I'm aware they can get large - I wondered how big *this* one was. ;)

Hi, i'm so sorry I haven't been reading this thread and just reading my PM's. I've had a few messages but I was hoping for someone with previous experience with reptiles and beardies who had a lot of time to give her lots of attention. Someone with their own equipment would also be ideal. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner Darth. I wanted to discuss all the people with my husband before we made a decision on who to give it to since we've had her for a while and have grown quite attached and care for her a lot so we wanted to choose a good home. I just agreed this week to give it to someone and he's going to pick it up next month (i need some time to say goodbye!)

She's actually not *that* big, possibly a bit smaller than the average adult size and quite a bit smaller than some of the *larger* ones i've seen in stores and stuff. We have her in a 60g so that she has room to run around and get more exercise while chasing crickets and worms. We've even built an additional platform as a "second level" so she can get closer to the heat and UV light. We have an even bigger enclosure for the outdoors when the weather is nice out! She loves watching the squirrels run around and the turtles basking on their rock!

I think beardies are a really fantastic pet, but I find that they need a lot more attention and stimulation than many realize. Also, a variety of foods is definitely important and not just spring mix and crickets.

I'm glad you found a suitable home for your baby.  :)

What do you include in your variety for your Beardie?  We've been alternating between Superworms, and Crickets,  and giving Butterworms as treats.

After raising rats, and hamsters for local pet stores - I can't imagine ever feeding them to another animal.  I do use Spring Mix often, but would love to be able to change things up to give her
more of a variety.

Are there any fruits or vegies that you would suggest or avoid?
