Genebe and me are going to spend the coming week-end in the Toronto area. We will have time to visit a few aquarium stores but don't know any of them. Do you have any suggestions for places being a must to see?

Thank you,
Patrick

HOB

It may be a bit outdated but you may call ahead to see if they still exist.

Some that I've been to and would go again:
North American Fish Breeder
Reefraft
Big Al's (Oakville)
Oakville Reef Gallery

laffy

north american fish breeder is a must.
sea u marine is a good one

depending how deep your pockets are, oakville reef gallery and reef raft might be worth stopping by.

its not abnormal to see $200-300 pieces of corals for the last 2 stores.

Severum

Reef Raft had some amazing stuff when I went there! But nothing in his store was for sale... It was ALL already pre-sold...

highly recommend SeaUmarine, it's easy to get too also just north on DVP/404... it has the best display tank in Toronto.  Full zeo system looks stunning.

AquaticKingdom is also another one out on the dundas west strip in missisauga they were planning a huge display tank too but not sure if it's finally filled yet or not.

Well, we visited all of the above with the exception of the Menagerie Pet Shop. We also went to the Big Al's in Mississauga and Oakville.

All I can say is WOW!

Frank Aquarium is a smaller store but with great prices on selected fishes and an interesting variety of plants. Aqua Inspiration is just that: quality tanks and hardware, and a great inspiration for the plants lovers with some of the most beautiful tanks I have ever seen with my own eyes. Lucky Aquarium has a great selection of plecos, discus, and other hard to find fishes. We had dinner at the "Corean all you can eat grill" and it was delicious. The three Big Al's are just what you would expect from well run aquarium stores: they are clean, with a large variety of healthy fishes in well maintained tanks, a good selection of healthy plants, great exhibition tanks, and very friendly staff. I which we would stay closer to one of these store.

Anyway, thank you for all your suggestions.
