Somehow, I expected that...
I guess it's the same rationale as to why so many more people vote for TV show polls (Idol) than real elections.
Would online voting help?
Or avatars as candidates?

For me, online would almost ensure I vote. I am just not a meeting kinda person.

volunteering for a position has no bearing on on-line vote, perhaps no one can volunteer the time it takes to become an exec. as where voting for a cookie is a 2 sec event (although life changing)
