90 tank bowing

I've just filled my 90 gallon tank (48x18x24) and noticed the width across the middle of the tank is about 1/2" wider than the edges.  This is an older tank so there is centre brace.  Is this something to be concerned about or is some bowing normal for tanks of this size?

I would be concerned about this for sure.

If its Glass, it shouldn't be Bowing unless its a bow front obviously.

I have a 48x24x24 and there is no Bow.

if there is truely 1/2" difference in the middle to the sides I would not have left it full of water.

Like JJ I have a 48"x24"x24" and there is zero bow.

Do you guys have newer ones?  I've read a bit, found one mention that saying sometimes the older tanks have thicker glass with no centre support and as long as the deflection is less than half the glass thickness it's ok...that being said it's in a place that a failure would be really bad.

Build date on my tank is 2009 according to the sticker under the rim.

My 59g rimless tank does bow by about the same amount.

The seller (private sale) told it was perfectly normal for rimless tanks, and never made a big deal out of it.

You can't tell by looking at it from the front, except if the tank is just filled with water then you can see a huge distortion.

I'd rather have a thicker glass that doesn't bow, but what the heck, I'm too cheap to buy a new tank (of that size or bigger)
