Alright so I finally managed to pick up 3 MP10's for my 90g, I tried MP40's but found they were to noisy for my liking.

Now my question is how would you place them in a standard 90g, I currently have 2 on one end and one on the other end all running together on reef crest mode. Now I was thinking would I be better off to put them along the back on the tank pushing forward or keep them how they are (if kept how they are I am gonna try and get a 4th)? How would you set them up?

Depends on the aquascaping IMO. I think I would try at least one on the back but that's just me  ;)

Here are some old pictures, but the rock work is still the same, just missing all my coral :), once I have some time I am gonna make a build thread.

Now that you have three why aren't you using an ecosmart mode?

I will eventually get there buddy, have not had much time to play with them since I am out of town during the week in the summer

I ran all or mine on the back. The dry side is out of sight and cleaning the ends is a breeze. I ran 4 40's in a 220g, all on reef crest.

Severum

I agree with JD. Putting them on the back with a black background will make them almost invisible. I would have done that had I not had a slant overflow in the way.

Aquascaping can be modified to suit powerhead placement, though its usually the other way around.  :D

+1  I have 2 PHs on the back with a V - C2C and one PH on each end. It works perfect and with the black painted back and smoked glass over flow you can hardly recognize the cords. My C2C is 3.5" wide at the top - the glass is 7" long so less than that since it is on an angle.

Thanks for all the replies guys

JD when you had them on reefcrest did you have them in sync, or were they all just random?

I had the two on the left sync'd together and the two on the right sync'd together and the two pairs
out of sync with each other.

I have a slanted style overflow and the back is painted black.

The back of my half cylinder is 5' long.
I have 1 mp 40 on the far right, 2/3 of the way up in the tank.

An MP60 1/3 of the way over and 1/2 way down in the tank. This pump is way overkill for its location in the tank as the distance from the front of the tank to the back is only 30" at best in the center. The mp60 is freakin amazing a pushing water but it should be doing so over 4' not 30"... This pump will be changed out for another MP40 one of these days soon..

I have an MP10 2/3 of the way across the back pumping water through a channel in the aqua scaping.

And one more MP10 on the far right hand side of the tank.

Also have a Gold series Dart on a closed loop pumping back in through sea swirls at the top of the tank.

My pumps and not synched up currently to try and create additional random flow.
