maybe a DIY fuge

I have an idea that I wonder if it'll work or not.  

I have a 20g nano-reef without a fuge or sump.  I would like to get some cheato in there to try to reduce my phosphates that are feeding the little cyano that I have.  I'm planning on taking a Marineland 100 HOB filter, hollowing it out and throwing some cheato in there.  I'll pick up a little underwater LED strip from ebay for lights and maybe a little LR rubble on the bottem.

Do you guys and gals think this will work??

From what I have read, this would work very well. I am doing this with a 4 gal setup and an AC70 HOB filter. Nano-reef.com under the Pico section has a mod layout which might give you an idea.

You would be surprised sometimes!  If its close to the algae (example in the water and touching it) it will still grow.  Worst case it doesn't work and you are out what.. $10-20.

I picked up a small bit at FishTail for $1!  While it was small when I got it a few weeks back, it is growing like a boss now.
