I've got a tank of cardinals.  Two have died and I'm afraid a third will soon die.  The three have shown the same symptoms, and I think I've found the disease.  I hope I'm wrong though, cause it seems quite serious.

I've removed the fish from the main tank into a quarantine tank and I've been performing a lot of water changes.  That's about it for now.  I'll attempt adding some salt as well as some MelaFix.

Please let me know if anyone has seen this before or if you have other suggestions.

Thanks.

Well, first we have to assume a correct diagnosis.

Your fish might also have something like a swim bladder problem.  Really bad cases make it difficult for the fish to swim or eat (which can be lethal).

The hospital tank is the best bet.  Regular partial water changes... keeping the salt level up with each change.  Hopefully, it isn't what you think it is.
