Looks like you have the potential for another beaut here Errol.  Only suggestion is the vals look a bit out of place to me.  Maybe some balansae would provide a similar look but more texture?  Looks great already though.  Love the rocks over the driftwood.

Thanks Dave, it`s actually C. Helferi, it`s being slowly removed from this tank.

So often we read & hear of generalized comments that Crystal Red Shrimp is sensitive to Nitrates & high Co2 etc , i have no doubt that may be true for the higher grades but here is evidence it`s not across the board for all CRS.
I added a few babies a short time ago when i started the tank as an experiment, this tank was switched from the PPS pro style fertilizeing regiment to the Estimative Index regiment maintaining an approx nutrient level of about 20 PPm of Nitrates, 5ppm of phosphates, 40 ppm of co2, the babies are no longer babies & othere than a loss of 2 that i can tell, the others are doing fine & enjoying life.

That is good to know, Errol.  I would like to add some to my CO2 tank, but was a bit hesitant.  I have the ones I got at the auction in my little 10 gallon LED tank and they seem to be doing very well.  I took the neons out and put them in the 66 gallon planted tank (where they were intended to go), and it is all shrimp in the 10 gallon now.

I have always fertilized sparingly in the LED tank, just .5 ml Flourish Comprehensive every couple of weeks, and Excel.  So far, everyone seems to be fine; lively and eating.

That is a very nice picture of the crs in your tank  :)

Try a couple in the CO2 tank & see how they do.

A view from my eye level when sitting, the Glosso was ripped up last Thurs. for the giant auction & some replanted , it has started to fill in again.

I probably would never see them again in the jungle!  I most likely will try a few in the CO2 tank at some point, though.

I made up a batch of the Repashy Shrimp Souffle and they loved it.  Now I am cooking for shrimp  :)

Your tank looks great, Errol.  You are very disciplined.

Glosso is alright, but I am waiting to see those UG bombs explode. That will make it a complete different tank!  ;)

That seems to be a tough plant to get to take off. I got some on that big Tropica group order we did a while back. It hung on for quite a while and I thought it was going to work in my tank but it eventually died out.
17 Gallon Seapora Crystal:: Cherry shrimp and red crystal shrimp

90 Gallon:: p. acei itunji, p. elongatus chewere, p. Saulosi, cyno zebroides jalo reef

Following on this comment, I finally saw the 5th crs from the batch that I purchased at the Giant Auction (sold by Errol).  All shrimp are now safe and accounted for  ;D

Update for April - added some plants & have gone to the UP inline co2 atomizer much happier with it in this tank.

One sweet looking tank, as usual  ;)

BTW, I grabbed one of those surface skimmers like the one you have in the tank there and am loving it on the open top, keeps it crystal clear.

Tanks looks awesome, thanks for the update!

Looks fantastic.  Love how the tall grass echoes the short one... same but different.

Sweet photography too.  ;)

Very nice Errol. Your plants always look so healthy, great job. ;)

Very nice Errol, I like the direction you've taken the tank since its initial setup - switching to a black background, removing some stone, and changing the stand.

Thank you all for the kind words, getting feed back both bad & good is how we move forward in this hobby.
Yes Eric that skimmer does a good job
@ Eric the background was always black but yes the skin /wrap on the stand made a huge difference
Thanks Errol

Is the tank on the first page, with the blue background, the same tank?
