I posted an ad in the "looking for" category but if you guys have or know where I can get a breeding pair of cockatoos (apistogramma cacatuoides) or a bunch of juvies, please let me know.

I've tried two LFS and no luck (one couldn't get it any time soon and the other could only get males). Plus I'd prefer to get it from a local breeder if possible.

Thanks

charlie

You might have better luck in the Montreal area, the Nature Pet & former Big Al`s usually have some Apistos more so than our LFS.
There is also a guy out there that breeds quite a few different Apistos, the name fails me now but he frequents the SAM auction with his Apistos, perhaps one of the members there who visits our site might be able to help.

Called most of our LFS this week on the hunt for some apistogramma cacatuoides with no luck.

Big Al's on Innes had another kind of apistos so I dropped by tonight to look at them and they were all gone  :( I had some free time so I went across town to the one in Kanata, again just to browse around...

Got there about an hour from closing and low and behold, they got a batch of double reds last night !!! I was probably one of the first to pick from the batch so I had my pick  :) I should have asked his name but the gentlemen at BA in Kanata was first class. He basically removed all decorations from the tank and I  was able to pick up a nice male and female, exactly what I wanted.

Suffice to say, I am a very happy man  :)
