has anyone had problems with their C-360 canister filter leaking on them and sounds like its sucking in air and is blowing out bubbles? if so, do you know how to fix it? and does anyone know what i can do while this is down? i got 2 ID sharks in a 125 with no filtration.

Don't run one of these but how old is it?
Sounds like a lose fitting somewhere.
Have you tried cleaning and lubricating the o rings.
Also making sure the rings are all seated properly.

You need to get some kind of filtration going, either borrow a filter or buy a second filter.
I like to run two filters on my big tanks, one canister and one HOB, then your
never caught with a problem.

Where bouts are you located?, maybe there is someone close to you that could help out?

im looking around at diff fish stores for seal kits for it and hopefully thats it, i e-mailed marineland but that will take like 3 days for them to respond on if they will replace it, im looking at just buying a c530 and get the c360 fixed as a back up but they are soo much money haha

is there any better filtration system that can run a 125g tank and is cheaper? anyone try the Odyssea CFS700 Canister Filter + UV?

I had a C-360. was a really good filter until it started doing the same thing.

There was a recall on these filters for this problem. When I called marineland they took my serial number and told me that mine wasnt one that was part of the recall but they would help me out anyways. a few days went by and when I came home from work, there was a brand new motor head on my doorstep. the complete top section of the filter (including the impeller!!) with 2 sets of o-rings.

I picked up a C-160 at the auction knowing that it had a leak, I found the leak and I think I have fixed it.

I tried the usual cleaning of all of the o-rings and other parts but it still leaked after 30 minutes sometimes longer so I did not think it was the main seal.

I put a big bucket of water on my washing machine and the filter in the utility sink next to it.  I took apart the motor section, only six screws, I put the rest back together without the light grey top, I held it all in place until my wife plugged it in and the water started running, once running I could let go and it kept itself sealed.  I was then able to dry all of the little compartments and see where it was dripping from.

My leak was coming from one of the tubes on the valve block, on further inspection I found a screw on one side the was not as tight as the other, the plastic was a bit stripped inside so I put in a thicker screw and it is now running dry.

That is great that you got it fixed.  I envy all of you people who can fix things  :)
