Red Eared sliders

to the ppl who has some...do you keep real plants with them?

I have a few java ferns in with my red eared slider but they don't do all that well.  They're tied down to small rocks and the turtle keeps rearranging the rocks.  Apart from the rearranging the turtle seems to have little interest in the plants.

I've tryed the water hycanth, well I think its their favorite food! they eat it all all the time

I put in some hornwort, if you let it float at the top they like to sit in it or sleep in it... they usually destroy it if it's on the bottom.
