I have a plant that I have been calling a Limnophila (genus) without being able to speciate it. Can anyone assist? Charlie, this was the plant we talked about on the Montreal trip. Cheers. G

It looks to me like its actually the common Hornwort Greg :) Its a floating plant and doesn't root really.

Actually it roots very well. I can wrap a weight around the bottom of cut stems and just drop it onto the substrate. Within weeks the roots are huge. If left to grow on the surface it will grow rooting shoots at each node and needs to be trimmed weekly to maintain it's appearance.

The first pic does look a little like hornwort.

The others look like species from the genus Myriophyllum, maybe mattogrossense as this is the most common one to find.
