Two weeks ago I bought a cool glass bowl I found at walmart, and I thought I'd try and see how hardy glossostigma elatinoides really is. So I added some ada aquasoil and water, then took some strands of glosso and planted it with tweezers and placed it in a window with direct sun exposure. A day or two later all the plantlets dried up, so I forgot about it, but not too longer after I began to see some real green growth...

Nice.  I am doing something similar (except I covered mine with saran wrap) with HC right now in fluval stratum... seems to be doing just fine.

Thanks I got the idea from another popular planted tank site http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/plant-physiology-emersed-culture/76538-secret-ada-wabi-kusa-they-filled-3.html and now that you mention hc I may take some out of my tank and add it to this as well, along with some other stem plants too. Considering it was actually easier to grow the glosso emersed, hope the same is true for hc and the others. This pic from the site above got me wanting to try this...

You guys can save yourself some money and use just plain black earth. Good way to keep some backup of fuzzy plants.  :)

Actually, it was because I had a spare bag and a half of aquasoil which led me to thinking what to do with it. I just started another similar setup with HC like Peter. Yes, it's a great way to have backups of your favourites.
