Lately there has been a few 125g setups for sale.Does anyone know why?
Could it be the high price of hydro and water cost.

Well we have had a few come in. For our customers it's many different reasons. None have to do with Hydro.
Most are that their lives have just gotten busier with life and no time for the hobby anymore.

^I second what Jim said. It takes time and commitment to endulge in any hobby, especially this one, and sometimes other things become a priority in peoples lives.

For us it was time to upgrade... we changed our 125g and everything is now in a 240g.  I'm sure as with anything there are those getting out and those moving forward to bigger and better.  It's on little circle :)

I have jumped back into the hobby and decided to restructure. I am selling a 150H and a 150L, and have purchased a 220. I will also soon be offering a 50B (36x18x18) and a standard 70. So you could say I am downsize as well as upsizing. At one point about 5 years back I was up to 30 tanks. Once the new setup is complete I should have only 19, but I expect several of the smaller ones to stay empty, and only be available for unexpected uncontrolled purchases I may make at OVAS auctions LOL.
1 210g Asian Community planted fast water tank: balas, tiger & black ruby barbs, red-tail black shark, rainbows, loaches, SAEs, gold CAEs, 1500GPH river flow, plus 1500gph filtration.
1 75g African planted tank: 3 synos (had them since the 90s), yellow labs, kribensis.
1 40g breeder, silicone-divided into two - quarantine and nursery.

I downgraded a few times.. and still think my current setup is too much.
with kids around now, I dont have the time I need to properly take care of the tank.
I'm more focused on gardening & other hobbies my kids are interested in then then hours working on tanks.

when I had no kids, I had a 400g tank, spent about 500$ a month on various goodies for it for years.
then my 1st one was born, and a series of events forced me to go to 220g.. then from there we had to move.. now I have a 70g.. its ok.. but I consider this hobby more of a winter thing for me where there is less to do for us outside. I guess priorities changed.. and so does cash flow.. LOL

my next setup will be quite shallow.. my current 70g is already quite shallow at a little over 19"  ( about 18" of water )
next setup.. something like 8" of water in a 10"high tank.  probebly keep similar dimensions ( 36x36x10 ) is my probable next setup. I went minimilistic this time too.. only have 2 fish.. lots of corals but just very little bioloads. I can now get away from skimmers and biobeads etc.. I do water changes when i get a chance and corals seem quite happy.. and growing.
I run a reefbright blue and have to say i'm quite impressed.. and a 70w mh bulb from ebay on a nais ballast with a exterior 150w halogen housing. one heater of 250w on a seperate controller and just 1 pump for the entire system a mag 9.5 runs the sump and gives the flow in the tank through 3x 3/4" nozzles inside the stand pipe.
so my total max wattage is ~370w  ( still think its too much.. lol )

with time, i think i'm slowly getting away from hydro hungry systems.. not soo much for the bills ( i did have some insane bills in the past ) but more for a wasteful side of things. dont get me wrong..i'd love a 8x4x3 tank.. if i could have 3 plasmas over it and heat it with geothermal.. then i'd be fine with it.. lol
