Hi all,

I haven't been online in a while.  Until now, I have always had planted tanks and SA cichlids, mostly angels.  My tanks are pretty limited these days but I am thinking of setting up my first african cichlid tank.  I have started some research, but could really use some advice.

The problem I have is that the tank is really not ideal for africans (at least as far as I can tell).  Not sure if I should give up on this plan or what options I might have.  I have done some research on cichlid forum, but I'm still not really sure.

The tank is a fluval, open topped about, 32 gallons.  Dimensions are L24 x W18 x D 22.  So its a fairly small tank, deep, with not much of a footprint.  It also has 2 x T5s which I figure is more than I would want/need for Africans (but by the way was great for angels and plants  :D

Anyone have suggestions for how I could use this tank?  Thanks for any help.

Eric

Hello Eric,

Yes you can use that tank for Cichlids, I would stock it with the smaller speices though
Here is some info that could help in selecting the type you would want
