Tough little shrimp!!

I had a tank set up for my pair of tequila fish (rare and endangered livebearers)  They never gave me any babies.  Mr. Tequila died about a month ago so Mrs. Tequila found a new home in one of my cold water community tanks.  I can't do any lifting so I mostly drained the tank out the window, unplugged the power bar (filter and lights) and left it until today. 

My husband carried it outside and as we was hosing it out, he found 2 amano shrimp!  Think about it.  Almost a month of no filter, no lights and the plants that were in there rotting away, not to mention my husband didn't find them until he had sprayed the gravel quite a bit with the jet setting on the garden hose!!

They seem fine!!!!

My husband saw something swimming against the current as he was dumping out the dirty water.  At first he only thought there was 1 but there was 2!!  We looked around the grass to make sure none had already been rinsed out.  Thankfully nothing was crawling around the grass.

Yeah they're surprisingly tough.  When shutting down my 90 for our move I found about 1/2 dozen cherry shrimp that had been missing and were just swimming around in the tiny puddles left in the bottom of the tank for over a week. They're definitely tougher than we think.
