really surprised my parrot cichlid just laid eggs.... im pretty sure it was a male and he had been separated from his pair for 3-4 months now i guess.. they spawned a little over 50 fries before and now im worried im gonna have another batch... do you guys think the eggs will hatch? 1st pic is the "dad" with the eggs and 2nd is the 1st batch from the pair... the "mom" is on my girlfriends tank... still confused how this has happend..

does the eggs needs to be fertilized or they are already fertilized??

If the dad is the only one of his kind in that tank then he's actually a she...and the eggs won't be fertilized.
I haz reef tanks.

Yes...that's the female.  Females can and do lay eggs without a mate to fertilize them.
