Can I use a ac sponge on an elite

I would like to use my ac on another tank temporarily, could I take the sponge out of the ac and run it on the elite air driven filter?
Would it maintain my cycle?

Sure it would!

I have a few of those crap box filters from Walmart and I normally use AC media in them. Or just random sponges from random things. I never adhere to protocol. Never had a problem.
