That's a great article Albert.  If one wanted to put one of the smaller species in a 10g, or smaller, nano-tank what type of substrate and what depth would be required?  I know that these wrasses tend to look for crevices to sleep in, vs. sand, but the article indicated they forage in the substrate as well.

Actually the type of substrate is not that important as most of them will indeed seek out a crevice or cave in the Live Rock in the tank and spend time there, and retreat there if they feel that they are being bullied or chased around by another fish, so any substrate will do if you want to house one ... 10 Gals is the minimum size  tank I would consider adequate. And remember these are jumpers so the tank needs to be covered. Great fish, a bit on the shy side but after a while once they get accustomed to their surroundings you will see them in the open as long as the other fish in the tank are of about the same size and not  aggressive ones.
