It's your topic in a General salt water forum... You can go off on any tangent you want. ;)

Okay, another naive question about live rock hitchhikers...........

When using live rock to seed your tank starting off, won't most of the hitchhikers in/on the live rock die off during your cycle? Or are some of them really tough buggers and can take the excess ammonia and nitrites?

I posted that Az carries Tonga, but he actually carries just about every kind of rock including Fiji. You can contact him via his vendor forum or give him a call for pricing.

Sorry for the error Az  :(
I haz reef tanks.

There are tough hitch hikers who get into a crack/hole in the rock and will hunker down until the mini Armageddon is over.  These critters survive being yanked from the ocean, packed "damp" in a box, a plain ride and sitting in that box for however long, and then into somewhat disgusting conditions while the rock is cured...  A little ammonia spike won't hurt them much.
