Jody

Hiya everyone,
We had our first in person executive meeting in two and a half years tonight, and have some plans to look forward to for the upcoming season.
I would like to take a moment to thank all the exec. both present and past for their hard work and commitment to making OVAS a great club. It is only with the help of our volunteers we can keep the club successful.
Our current executive looks a bit different than previously, as a couple of members have moved on, though they have still offered to help out where they can, in more supporting roles.
Errol Choo - President, Jody McManus - Vice President, Mike McCarthy - Treasurer, Mike Gilbert - Auction, Liam Epp - Membership.
There are a few open positions for anyone wanting to help out, and we have a few members to reach out to who have expressed interest. Of course, if you are interested in helping out, please let us know, we can use all the help we can get.
Online presence chair, Secretary, Sponsorship and Program chair positions are all open.

There are a few logistical things we need to figure out before we announce our official launch of the 2022-2023 season.
The biggest thing to figure out is location. Unfortunately, the Tom Brown arena is no longer available, so we will be trying to find a new place to host the meetings and possibly our events (garage sale, auction). Something central is preferred and with some access to transit to hopeful be able to get as many people out as possible. If you know of any places, please let me know.
As long as we can find a place, we should be kicking off our season with our fantastic garage sale in mid August, so dust off that old equipment, clean out those empty tanks and be ready to make some deals.

Typically, after every meeting, those members who are interested head over to the pub for a bit of a hang out afterwards. It is always a good time to socialize, get to know one another and just chat. One idea tossed out for this upcoming season was, in addition to the meeting, have a separate pub night, where we just go to hang out. What do you think about this idea? Are you interested in coming out?

We still have lots of work to do, but our plan is to have a great 2022-23 season, and we look forward to seeing you all. If you have any thoughts, ideas or want to help out, please let us know.

Thanks,
Jody

I, for one, am really looking forward to getting back to in person meetings. Also, having a beer with everyone after the meeting is fantastic. Can?t wait to get started again.
