DARKPHREAK

I'll pay 25$+ if the resistors and power supply is included.

Quote from: "Jim"does anyone have some kind of plan they can post of how they will hook the LEDs up? (ie. wiring, scematic, power supply)

please and thank you
DIY plans I used are being uploaded now (PDF format)

jgolden

okay, couldn't upload from main page. Here's the pdf

az

i can show you guys how to do it, no problem at all!

not to scare you or anything but by the time its set and done, its going tobe not too cheap, but cheap enough!

i'd ask the supplier to provide the resistors.....they are cheap and the supplier always provide resistors if you only ask(something i learned about this hk ppl).

the things we need for the whole project:

leds
mounting plugs
resistors
wires
heatshrinks
heatgun
soldering stuff
little bit of patience

think i have all that maybe some extra! i'll take 35 btw, thanks.

here are the resisrtors i have found for the LED's. they work for a 12 V/DC power supply, with the brighter LED's.

i have also bid one one of the sets of 50

Seanc, on top of getting brighter LEDs, I think it's wise to get some that's in the 470nm wavelength as well as this spectrum is very close to the actual moonlight....  In the original ad which you've posted (from eBay), they didn't mention the wavelength so I am not sure what it is.....

Just a thought......

ToX, talking about car mods.....  I am not much of a mod myself, but I did upgrade a bunch of LED lights for my car and it looks really cool :-)  The one I especially liked is my license plate light as it is brilliantly white; not dim and yellow like a normal light  bulb....  I got it from this shop in HK as well and I have no defective bulbs so far....

Seanc

they do say the wave length
if you go about half way down the page to

Typical Electrical & Optical Characteristics
at the bottom of that section it says
"Color TemperatureNA, Wavelength : 465-470nm"
wich is perfect, right?

darkdep

I think 470-480 is the desired wavelength to match real moonlight...(could be wrong tho)

jgolden

Yes, 470nm-480nm is the wavelength you're searching for in order to simulate real moonlight (desired for saltwater tanks). However, if you're building these for a freshwater aquarium, 465nm-470nm will be fine.

Seanc

so does every one still want them?

DARKPHREAK

Yes, as per my previous posts.

I also found this http://www.kaotica.com/frag/diy/moonlight/
