In my 75g I'm running the temp at around 81-82. Just wondering if thats abit high or not. There are not any problems but with summer comming would it be better to drop it down to 78.

And at the end of July I'll be moving from Hawkesbury to Rockland, I have a fairly mixxed up substrate, sand in areas where there are no plants and eco with flourite where the plants are, topped off with moon sand. As one can guess emptying the tank of substrate will not be possible so I'll be taking all the water out and leaving everything else there. Would it be too much stress on the glass, I'll be making a gurney type thing from 2*4's and strapping it so it wont move around. Weight wont be a problems cause I figure 3 or 4 big boys can easily move it to a 3rd floor apartment. Does anyone have experience with moving their tanks?

A water temperature of 81 won't harm anything but reducing it to 78  would reduce your tank heating costs.

I've moved tanks in much the same fashion as you're describing.

If you're leaving your plants in the tank be careful that they're positioned properly so they won't get damaged when the water level goes down then make sure to seal the top of the tank so the humidity stays in the tank and your plants don't dry out.

I recommend you used buckets with lids to save as much of the water as possible.  Put your fish in the buckets to move them.    When you setup your tank at the new location put all of the water you saved back in the tank.   This will mean the plants and fish won't have to deal with new water chemistry on top of the stress of the move.
