Speakers: Julien Poupard and Francois Blondeau

Topics: 1) The Use of Reverse Osmosis Water (JP) and 2) Tips to Save Corydoras Eggs (FB)

Synopsis:

Reverse osmosis is very valuable in acquarium keeping. It serves to replace evaporated water without affecting hardness, it helps to recreate “black water” environments, or to induce spawning my mimicking spring rainfall. Julien will discuss the importance of RO water as well as the making and use of RO water.

Corydoras catfish are seasonal spawners who can respond to efforts to mimicking spring rainfall. It is easy to recover and save newly deposited cory eggs but sometimes difficult to prevent fungal infections on the eggs. Some cory eggs are very sensistive to anti-fungal agents such as Methylene Blue or Acriflavin. Francois will discuss alternative methods to increasing the hatching success of Cory eggs.
