Gather your plant trimmings, fish, and live food cultures, it’s time to trade livestock again! Once, twice…, SOLD!

What to expect: Bargains, tough bidding wars and lots of fun! It’s a great chance to try new species or add to your community tank. You may find uncommon fish, plants & invertebrates, even live food cultures, many of which are homegrown!

Bidders

Members and non-members can bid & there is no attendance fee!

Pick up your bidder number upon arrival.

Preview of items is allowed before the auction begins & not during the auction.

The auction is cash only (there is no ATM in the Arena).

Respect the auctioneer’s final call on all lots.

Consider bringing an insulated bag or Styrofoam cooler for transporting livestock.

 

Volunteers

If you can volunteer during the event you may be involved with setup, registration, recording, auctioneering, running, raffling, or greeting attendees. Volunteers can still hold a bidding card.

 

Consignors

This is a livestock only auction; dry goods are not permitted. Maximum 3 lots of the same species/consignor.

All items must be bagged and labelled properly for sale (BAGGING TECHNIQUE).

Sellers with improperly bagged items may incur re-bagging fees.

 

 

Please arrive as early as 6:00pm to ensure your lots are registered.

The cost to register items is $1 per lot for OVAS members (or CAOAC affiliated club) & $2 per lot for non-members. No charge for donations.

Bidding starts at $2, unless a reserve bid is specified.

Unsold lots are the responsibility of the consignor & are subject to registration fees.

Payout occurs only once all items have been sold.

OVAS memberships can be renewed for the 2023-2024 season in-person at our meeting, or ONLINE.

 

This is a FREE event sponsored by the Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society. Anyone with an interest in aquariums and related hobbies is welcome to attend. OVAS presentations are a great place to meet other aquarium hobbyists, exchange ideas and learn more about fish and aquatic plant keeping.
