It would be nice to have the chance to reply to the classifieds post so that you can:

- Ask further questions that others might be asking themselves
- Provide feedback/free bump if you have dealt with the seller in a positive way

What is everyone's thoughts or opinions on this matter ?

personally I think this would just cause havoc, I like the format it is where the adds can only be bumped every so often, easier to keep track of everything :)

Replies to classified ads was removed a while ago because too many people were having discussions that branched from the actual ad. If you need to ask questions you can always pm.

I vote not ever again fro replies in the classified section!!!!!! It was crazy and some major issues as a result. If people find they are getting to many pm's I am sure they will update there ad to include more information. Much better then all the issues and thread spamming. Not to mention the bumping issue it causes.

I just clicked on my ad in the classifieds, and then clicked on "reply"  I diddnt put any text or post it, but it appeared I could reply to it.  Maybe that is because it is my own ad, but is there something Im not understanding?

Yes you are able to reply to your own add, which is considered a bump :)

You can reply to your own ad, this is called bumping and you must wait 72 hours between posting and bumping.  This gives everyone a chance for their ad to be near the top of the page for a couple of days.

You can't reply to other ads.  What was happening in the past was the following:

1.  Someone would post an ad.
2.  Someone else would pay and say "PM sent"
3.  The original poster would come back on and say "PM replied"
4.  Repeat steps 2 and 3...

The vast majority of our posts at one time were people doing this type of messaging.  Yes, it would be nice to ask questions, but this way the onus is on the seller to provide as much information as possible.

Don't forget that OVAS has a separate webpage as well.  http://ovas.ca/ovas/

Makes sense, I guess it can go both ways and only in the perfect world would my system work as intended. But thanks for the replies.

I figured OVAS must of had that feature a while ago and had problems with it, hence the removal of replying.
