Interesting article, wonder if the same applies to bettas. I've had two of betta fish living in freshwater community tanks (not at the same time) that have thrived and done well with no aggression problems.

I did the same never had an issue,
I used to work in a LFS and the worst was when you ask how big someones tank is and they ask about a fish that needs more room than what they have, then their tank magically grows 15 gallons in size? We ask to benefit you and the fish, Quit Lying.
My favourite was when  they return with they returned with the dead fish I got to tell them no.

Great article. Puts things into perspective especially when comparing the fish in small tanks to dogs kept in cramped quarters, such as what you would see at a puppy mill.

It might make people new to the hobby more likely to think twice (hopefully), but people who have already decided to ignore size/number limit advice won't change their minds because of this.
