April 2019 auction date?

Hi,

I am hearing through the grapevine that you guys are planning the giant auction on the 28th of April, just like the SAM. Is this true?!

Hi Biulu,yes our auction date is set for April 28th  this was established since the beginning of our season ( last fall) after checking to ensure that they were no conflicts with neighbouring clubs.
We have since learned that Montreal has changed there auction date creating a conflict of dates with us   as was the case last spring

Yeah, it is unfortunate that the two dates are the same.
Last year Montreal had a special event, so changed their date, which ended up on the same day as our original date.  We chose to change ours to avoid the conflict. So this year I before we planned and booked our room, I reached out to the club to check their dates and booked to avoid the same date.
Unfortunately,  it looks like a miscommunication on the scheduling. They reverted to their regular date, end of Apr. which coincides with our booked date.
We book our entire season in August typically, and all our cards, newsletter and website reflects the dates we have the room booked.
Hopefully, next season we can avoid the conflict, as I like to go to both.

They posted an apology and explanation on the MAS Facebook page on why they did it. It says the following:

Hugo Marchand We are sorry that the 2 events are occurring the same day. It is unfortunate but we also had to take in consideration the availability of the room for the super auction and the availability of our essential volunteers. Sadly, we had to settle for that date, a lot of us frequent both auctions, but unfortunate events led us there. We are sorry for the inconvenience, we still hope to see some familiar faces.
